Sports Impact Technologies develops a lightweight behind-the-ear wearable sensor that measures head impacts and head movement in real time. Designed for everyday use in amateur and professional sport, the system helps teams monitor player safety, track exposure, and support better decision-making during training and competition.
The technology is also being adapted for human spaceflight research through work with the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences (IIAS). By generating high-quality motion data in both terrestrial and microgravity environments, the sensor demonstrates how Irish-developed sports technology can translate into advanced aerospace and human-performance applications.
